Time to finish what I started

Hello dear reader(s), happy fall.  October is here and my favorite time of year hails change, acceptance and love.  I have left the skies of southern Utah with gratitude and more life's lessons.  Difficult to cut ties, but it was time.  My mental health required peace and some sanity.  One of my fellow work camper said, "we're retired, and if ain't fun, we're done." So I put a fork in me and returned to the place I most likely will call home for awhile.  Sedona.  And Sedona Ranch. My host from 10/2020 to 2/2021.  I hauled my trailer here and found space to breathe, and degunk the garbage truck amounts of negativity I subjected myself to for 6 months. It's been the 3rd in a row of bad decisions host/workamping, so perhaps its a sign, my Brave, Ba-ad & Beautiful friends to call it. I've had 2 years of amazing experiences, I've overcome many fears, gained independence, inspiration and seen absolutely indescribable beauty.  All on my own, and my li

Hotel Nevada, Ely NV

So I got the wild idea of finding out a haunted hotel or old west B&B to welcome in my 61st year, and remembered this old place in Ely (pronounced eeelee, not the biblical name) when I came through in March with my trailer. At that time I didn't know the hotel was haunted, because i slept in my trailer in the RV lot, but it's famously so. There was also a vintage car show happening their that weekend. Not sure what to expect, but had an open mind.    This carpeting was throughout the hotel, it kind of moved if you stared too long. I was told to just take snaps of things, if the spirits are around it would show in the pic.  See anything? Not sure if I did upon arrival. I was on the top floor with a great view to the mountains, the r

Horseshoe Bend Tour & Float

I remember the enormous size of the pontoon boats at Lee's Ferry & I was excited that even though I wasn't about to hit any whitewater, this boat ride would have a lot more pep because of riding floaty.  We got our orientation, there was 20 people going on my particular boat, and 15 of them didn't speak English very well, if not at all. Our guide had his work cut out for him. We got on the bus to board the boat at Glen Canyon dam.  The tunnel to the bottom of the dam was over 2 miles long, jet black hole with a blip of light in a small hole used to blast out debris. Not for the claustrophobic! We came out of the tunnel and the awe of the dams size bored into the cliffs was incredible. Again the danger of the low water level was explained the future of the dam was at stake.   We boarded the boat and our guide was a delightful surfer/water junkie with a great sense of humor.  His knowledge and love for the river was evident the entire tour.  The tour ran from the bottom
